ILM JAHM Peer Review Policy

Issues in Law and Medicine A Journal of the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine (ILM JAHM) publishes only those manuscripts which have undergone the peer review process.   There are two types of peer review possible for manuscripts submitted to ILM JAHM:

Double Anonymized (Double Blinded) Peer Review

In this process, the Associate Editor responsible for the peer review process will assign peer reviewers based on the reviewers subject matter expertise.  The peer reviewers will be unaware (blinded) to the identity of the authors.    Similarly, the authors will not know the identity of the peer reviewers.  This allows for the most candid and helpful constructive feedback for the authors.

This double anonymized peer review process will be used for both legal and biomedical manuscript submissions.

Open Peer Review

This process is reserved for those manuscripts which have already undergone an extensive open peer review usually through an organizational committee responsible for the production of the document.  In these cases, the reviewers know the identity of the authors, and the authors know the identity of the reviewers.  The reviewers will be listed according to the committee which reviewed the document, and the organization to which that committee belongs.
